Toyota Crown Returns to the US
For 15 generations, the Toyota Crown has been a trailblazer in innovative technology with engineering ahead of its time. First released in 1955, the Crown was Toyota’s first mass-produced passenger vehicle. This year, the 2023 Toyota Crown debuts as a reimagined full-size sedan built to deliver an unforgettable driving experience.
Overview
The design of the new Toyota Crown discards convention and embraces a powerful style that takes it to a new level. The Toyota Crown comes in three grades: XLE, Limited, and Platinum, with a choice of two different hybrid powertrains, the HYBRID MAX or the Toyota Hybrid System (THS). Each grade will come standard with Toyota’s Audio Multimedia System and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. The Platinum grade comes with an addition of Standard Adaptive Variable Suspension as well as 21-inch wheels, and it also comes with the choice of a unique bi-tone paint.
Performance and Comfort
There are two hybrid powertrain options available with the Toyota Crown, HYBRID MAX, and the fourth generation Toyota Hybrid System or THS. The THS includes a selection of NORMAL, ECO, and SPORT modes, customizable by the driver. The HYBRID MAX features these modes as well, but also adds SPORT+, COMFORT, and CUSTOM for a more personalized driving experience. This sedan also comes standard with Toyota’s Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive.
The Toyota Crown also features heated front seats that have three levels of adjustment. The Limited and Platinum grades come with heated back seats as well as ventilated front seats. Dual zone climate control comes standard on all grades to allow for adjustable temperature to fit the preferences of both driver and passenger. Platinum and Limited grades include a moonroof, as well as LED lighting within the cabin.
The new Crown comes with a spacious interior as well as materials that allow for a quiet ride. With acoustic glass and sound-absorbing insulation, unwanted noises are kept to a minimum, allowing for a peaceful drive.
Technology
No new car is complete without a multimedia system, and all Crown models feature Toyota’s new Audio Multimedia system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen for enhanced user experience. The system can also be navigated through both touch and voice activation for commands to search for directions, adjust audio, change the temperature, and more. It also allows for Bluetooth connectivity that supports both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ for dual support.
