2023 Corolla Hybrid with New Editions & Grades
This year, the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid will be entering the market with the choice of five model grades. With each new model come upgrades and new features such as the available Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive as well as new multimedia systems and a variety of paint colors. Best of all, the 2023 Corolla Hybrid LE grade will have a starting MSRP price that is $1,250 lower than the 2022 Corolla Hybrid. Along with the LE grade, the new model will introduce the new LE AWD grade, SE and SE AWD grades, and an XLE grade. All grades come with an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility.
New Hybrid Features
The new 2023 Corolla Hybrid models have an even wider appeal with the available AWD which will create added traction as well as the hybrid feature which will improve overall fuel economy at 44 MPG. The Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive uses a rear-mounted electric motor that powers the rear wheels and distributes driving force to prevent slippage.
These new hybrid models also share similar styling to the Corolla gas sedan, with the SE grade having a sportier look. A variety of different colors are available, such as Midnight Black Metallic, Underground, Ice Cap, Celeste, and more, with Wind Chill Pearl and Ruby Flare Pearl available at an extra cost.
The variety of models available is due to the Toyota New Global Architecture-C platform, which allows for greater agility and rider comfort. Special insulation also creates a quieter drive when on the road. The comfort of driver and passenger is improved with a spacious interior that pairs high-gloss materials with matte elements that create a premium look. Seating materials are made of standard cloth, with SofTex® trim available in higher grades, both of which are available in a variety of colors.
Driving
In the Corolla Hybrid, the layout of the platform allows for the lithium-ion battery pack to be placed under the rear seat, which also contributes to the car’s lower center of gravity, increasing agility. The engine works with the electric motor to allow for a responsive performance while maintaining energy efficiency. This hybrid also has an EV mode, which lets the vehicle operate as an electric car for short distances in spaces such as parking lots or parking garages.
