2022 4Runner Gets TRD Sport Upgrade
We’re only halfway through 2021, but—like always—Toyota is one step ahead, revealing a fan-favorite addition to their 2022 vehicle lineup. This versatile SUV has built a beloved reputation over its nearly 40-year history, and now, there’s even more to love. Featuring sport-packed offerings like sleek style, powerful performance, and vast versatility, we’re excited to announce an all-new way to adventure in 2022: the Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport!
The 4Runner joined Toyota’s TRD family in 2015 with the TRD Pro model. Shortly after, it adopted the TRD Off-Road. Now, the full-size SUV is turning it up a notch once again with enhanced styling, sporty flair, and road-worthy upgrades in the TRD Sport.
Sport-Tuned X-REAS Suspension
4Runner TRD Sport drivers will experience better road handling, dynamics, and overall comfort with the exclusive Cross-Linked Relative Absorber Systems (X-REAS). Cross linking the shock absorbers on the opposite corners of the vehicle, this system automatically adjusts to rough roads and bumpy surfaces, allowing for a smoother, more enjoyable drive.
Accented Machine-Faced 20-Inch Wheels
Based on the SR5 grade, the TRD Sport model 4Runner swaps its former 17-inch wheels for three additional inches of height (and style) with 20-inch machined-face wheels featuring signature Dark Gray accents.
TRD Adornments
Style is to be expected in any Toyota—but the TRD Sport series takes it to a whole new level in the 2022 4Runner. As if color-keyed accents on the grille, rocker panels, and body molding weren’t enough, there’s more—lots more. Similar to other TRDs, the 4Runner TRD Sport model will have a hood scoop, front spoiler, and all-black roof rails.
Like most Toyotas, the 2022 4Runner TRD Sport will come with Toyota Safety Sense P, limited warranty, and ToyotaCare.
